Mergers & Acquisitions and International Tax Planning is structuring and tax planning course on maximising taxation benefits from international mergers and acquisitions.
The course reviews tax planning opportunities in 21 countries, including Australia, Brazil, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Japan, Mexico, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Russia, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States.
The course emphasises practical international tax planning, and includes specific examples, case studies and group discussions. The practice sessions review issues for the most common merger and acquisition scenarios, including the best approaches to corporate or business acquisitions, asset step ups, debt creation and thin capitalisation planning, group consolidation and hybrid security funding, and merger tax concessions, as encountered by ‘MegaCorp’. The case study format encourages group discussion of alternative possibilities, and the appreciation of the different approaches which are most effective in different countries.
